What we handle
Disputes when a client’s future is on the line.
Frost LC represents startups, venture funds, executives, investors, and entrepreneurs in the disputes that matter most to them.
Founders’ & Investor Disputes
Equity, control, and separation fights between co‑founders, executives, investors, and the companies they build—often resolved efficiently, but litigated aggressively when circumstances and strategy demands it.
Trade Secrets & Employee Mobility
Protecting confidential business information during team moves and lift-outs, advising individuals transitioning to new opportunities, and litigating misappropriation claims on both the plaintiff and defense side.
Private Company Insider Trading & Equity Disputes
Insider-trading and equity disputes unique to venture-backed companies—an area where sophisticated, technology-fluent counsel matters.
Complex Commercial Litigation
Breach of contract, fraud, and other business claims in courts and arbitral bodies nationwide, for clients ranging from early-stage startups to publicly traded technology companies.
Subpoena & Nonparty Representation
Representing nonparties subpoenaed in civil and criminal matters—protecting confidential business information and user privacy for technology companies.
Fractional In-House Counsel
Litigation management and strategic legal counsel for early-stage companies that need senior judgment without a full-time hire.
John F. Frost – Founding Attorney
A litigator built for high-stakes, technology-driven disputes.
Before founding Frost LC, John spent eight years at Lewis & Llewellyn LLP and served as a Judicial Fellow in the Northern District of California, a Deputy Attorney General at the California DOJ, and a post-bar fellow in the California Superior Court. He represents plaintiffs and defendants. He aims to deliver pragmatic, efficient resolutions—but he litigates aggressively when it serves his client’s interests.
